Prowein, the largest event of the wine sector, will receive once again the Portuguese wines, from 19 to 21 March, in Dulsseldorf. This edition will present new projects and trends from Portugal. This year ViniPortugal has a superior area compared to 2016. More than 350 Portuguese winemakers will be exposing their wines. This year Wines of Portugal stand will have a wine tasting area and as the previous years a program with seminars of varied themes.

Portugal is positioned among the wine countries with important interest in the international scenario and continues to record a consistent growth in the German market. The still wines exports increased by 9.7%, however the fortified wines exports, in particular Oporto, only increased by 1.7%. Germany is currently the second market in terms of import value, just after the United States.

The ViniPortugal stand at Prowein will have a free tasting area (Hall 10 / C02) and offers visitors more than 80 selected wines, awarded in national and international competitions. Visitors will have the opportunity to talk and meet with wine producers in the numerous individual presentation areas.

The program also includes about 20 seminars that will approach varied themes target to different types of audiences like gastronomy, commerce and press. The panels will feature internationally renowned speakers such as Caro Maurer MW or Justin Leone, sommelier at the Tantris restaurant. Also noteworthy for Christina Fischer and Patrick Jabs who will approach the harmonization with Portuguese wines, presenting dishes that combine with Portuguese wines. For those looking for new trends, the seminar "Young Winemakers - Living Tradition Through Innovation" will be very interesting.
